The second chamber, which has more breathiness issues than I'd like, probably has those issues because it has 3 extra little holes on the side of the ocarina (facing the right palm) which always are uncovered. Same applies to the double chamber extended range (like, beyond standard double) ocarina that I have from STL. Ocarina of Time Songbook for 4,5, and 6 hole Ocarina (PDF) 5.00. Ocarina of Time Songbook for 12 Hole Ocarina (PDF) 7.00. Ocarina of Time Songbook for 12 Hole Ocarina 7.00. Legend of Zelda Standard Notation Songbook 15.00. I feel like the extra holes on 12 holes add to the breathy sound, especially considering the fact that those two extra little holes usually aren't covered. Legend of the Dragon Tooth Songbook/Tutorial 7.00. I've found that 10 hole ocarinas tend to have the best clarity/least breathiness/best sound (across the board, any given reputable brand). After the child Link beats the boss of the first dungeon, Gohma, he meets Saria as he is leaving. High production number instruments aren't always worse, but sadly with ocarinas, most are viewed as toy or novelty instruments rather than ones to be treated/pursued/used seriously. The Ocarina of Time is a seven-hole sweet potato ocarina. All are tuned acceptably - I've had no problems with STL.Īt first I didn't get the ocarina of time variant because it had the wrong number of holes compared to the original, and didnt look close enough, but now like 14 years later I avoid them simply because they're high production number instruments, and mostly beginner quality - both of which are totally fine, just not what I look for or need anymore. It is WAAAY too overpriced for what it is. I've got a few from STL, all ceramic though, and none of the Zelda inspired ones, even though OOT is what got me into ocarinas in the first place. I don't think I'd ever consider a Spencer Oot.
